The historty of Gwynedd Poultry Club...
Welcome. We are a group of poultry enthusiasts that decided to form a poultry club. Gwyneddd Poultry Club was formed in 1983.
The first meeting to form the club was in Caernarfon at Walter Williby Williams house. The meeting was attended by many including; W Williams, T Hughes, A Green, D Green, JRC Jones, Jack Jones, Brian Davies, JW Jones, RH Thomas, E Williams, Emrys Jones and others.
The first show and venue was Bethal near Caernarfon in July of that year. The first judge was R Hughes.The winning bird was a black orpington of Emrys Jones. The number of birds entered at the first show was about 60.
After a few years, as the show grew we moved venue to Rhiwlas near Bangor, then it went to the bottom of Bangor and then we went to Penrthosgaredd, again near Bangor.
The next venue we had after that was Bodedarn then to Anglesey Showground. In 2018 we again moved to a new venue at at Tregarth near Bangor.
